Bienvenidos a mi nuevo blog, en el que encontraréis canciones, juegos y muchas actividades interesantes y divertidas para aprender inglés.
Aquí os dejo la primera. Se trata de la canción que da nombre al blog: "Peter Peter pumpkin eater". Espero que os guste.

NURSERY RHYME: 


The term nursery rhyme is used for "traditional" poems for young children in Britain and many other countries, but usage only dates from the 19th century and in North America the older ‘Mother Goose Rhymes’ is still often used.


The lyrics of the "Peter Peter pumpkin eater" rhyme originate not in Europe, but in America. This rhyme is has become known to British children only in recent years as for most British children it has only just become clear exactly what a pumpkin is! As it is not indigenous to the British shores the vast majority of the British population have never eaten pumpkin! The American tradition of dressing up for Halloween (and the subsequent use of the pumpkin for making lanterns) together with 'Trick or Treat' has only reached our shores a few years ago.
